Ford hoping trip to Halifax will pay dividends

JIMMY JACKSON: out with shin splints
JIMMY JACKSON: out with shin splints

GRAVESEND & Northfleet, still fourth in the Conference, face one of their biggest tests of the season on Saturday when they travel to Halifax.

Fleet boss Andy Ford said: “We could do with a win under our belts because the table is getting a bit tight.

“With Carlisle in the league to come after Hornchurch, it is another three big games for us. “Halifax are a good side and are difficult to beat on their own patch.”

Lee Protheroe (toe) is a doubt after coming off in Saturday’s draw with Exeter, while Jimmy Jackson is sidelined with shin splints.

Ford blocked defender Lee Shearer’s proposed loan move to Dover last week, and included the player in the team that faced Exeter.
