Newport v Welling

WELLING manager Andy Ford is demanding his team show their best form at Newport on Wednesday.

Ford wants a repeat display from the 2-1 win at play-off chasing Bishop's Stortford earlier this month when they face another side with promotion aspirations.

He said: "We've got to go there and play like we did at Bishop's Stortford. We went there to get a result and we'll be positive when we come up against Newport as well."

The two sides met less than a month ago when Newport ran out 2-1 winners at Park View Road.

Ford is sweating on the fitness of defender Max Hustwick and striker Orlando Smith while skipper Richard Carpenter should be 100 per cent fit after coming off through illness against Weston last weekend.

It will be the final game of keeper Steve Williams' brief spell at the club. He is being recalled by Sittingbourne a game earlier than planned after the Brickies had their own keeper, Chris Lewington, taken back by Fisher following an injury to Simon Overland last weekend.
