Ebbsfleet United striker Danny Kedwell joins Havant & Waterlooville

Danny Kedwell has signed for National League South side Havant & Waterlooville.

The 35-year-old striker announced on Friday he was leaving Ebbsfleet after four-and-a-half years.

Kedwell was offered reduced terms to stay at Stonebridge Road but instead he's decided to join up with Paul Doswell at Westleigh Park.

Kedwell, who won the League 2 championship during his time at Gillingham, reached the play-offs three times during an eventful Fleet career.

It was his saved penalty which saw Maidstone promoted in 2016 but Kedwell lifted the trophy a year later after Ebbsfleet came from behind to beat Chelmsford 2-1.

Fleet's first season back in the National League saw Kedwell scored 20 goals and feature in a play-off semi-final at Tranmere Rovers.

Kedwell made 42 appearances for the club last season and left Stonebridge Road with a record of 65 goals from 206 games.

He's not the only Fleet player to sign for Havant after defender Sam Magri also joined the Hawks on Monday.

Doswell said: "He's a fantastic centre-forward.

"He will be captain of this football club and someone who will bring leadership, enthusiasm and ability."
