Jessica McQueen is stepping down as Ebbsfleet United’s chief executive.

Having previously served as the Fleet chairman, Mrs McQueen and the club’s Kuwaiti owners have mutually agreed that she will move aside on December 13.

The move follows discussions by the Kuwaiti European Holdings board around "the most appropriate future staffing of the football club."

Mrs McQueen helped oversee the summer takeover of the club by KEH Sports, funded by Dr Abdulla Al-Humaidi, which saved Ebbsfleet from extinction.

Fleet vice-chairman Peter Varney said: "Our focus since the takeover at the beginning of June has been on the football and the stadium infrastructure but now is the time to put together a management team off the pitch that will take the club forward over the next five years.

"Jessica played a key role in working with all of us at KEH to achieve a takeover.

"Many long hours were put in during the acquisition period and she once again showed her determination not to let the club die."
