Daryl McMahon dedicated Ebbsfleet's win on Saturday to the two members of his staff who left the club this week.

"It is hard," McMahon said. "It's not easy and it happened late in the week but you have to just be professional and do your job.

"If I learned anything from Gritty, it's to be professional in everything you do and we have done that.

"It's football and there's always changes. That's just part of the game.

"We're a very close group and that win was as much for them as anyone."

McMahon thanked the Fleet supporters for their vocal backing of him and the players during the fourth qualifying round tie.

He said: "The crowd were amazing from start to finish. They were right behind the team and they were outstanding.

"Sometimes you can go into these FA Cup games and there's a bit of expectation, turning up to watch a game but they got right behind the team and backed them."

Two goals from Luke Coulson put Fleet in charge at half-time after Worthing, who play two divisions below in Bostik Premier, had started well and created chances.

McMahon said: "In the first 15-20 minutes Worthing moved the ball really well but defensively our shape was good and we were clinical on the counter-attack.

"We stood strong after that slow start. We believed in what we were doing and then we took control of the game.

"You could see in the last 15 minutes (of the first half) people almost getting a little bit taller where they were growing into a performance.

"We asked them in the second half to 'keep growing and believing and keep doing what you're doing; you're good players and now's the time to go and show it.'

"I thought they did to be fair. In the second half we were free-flowing, moved the ball really well and got back to hat we're used to seeing from my team."

Ebbsfleet's win has earned them £25,000 in prize money and a place in the first round draw.

McMahon said: "We did it last year and for 45 minutes against Doncaster we looked like we might give them a game.

"In the second half we fell apart but they were an excellent side on the day.

"Hopefully we get another big team at home and we're glad to be in the draw."
