Ebbsfleet manager Josh Wright has released 11 players following their relegation from the National League.
The Fleet’s fate was confirmed at the end of March so they’ve been planning for life in National League South for some time.
Strikers Dominic Poleon and Rakish Bingham head the list of players leaving Stonebridge Road along with former Gillingham defender Luke O’Neill and another title-winner in Greg Cundle.
“I want to personally thank those who have been a servant in a Fleet shirt whether it’s been for a season, or five,” said Wright.
“Days like today are one of the toughest during a campaign and decisions like this are not taken lightly. I wish all of those departing players the very best in the future.
“As tough as this season has been, we can’t forget how successful we were a few seasons ago with some of those who have departed today; a special mention to Luke O’Neill, Rakish Bingham, Dominic Poleon and Greg Cundle, who played a big part with me in that title-winning season.”
Poleon was top goalscorer in three of the four years that he spent with Ebbsfleet. But he netted just five league goals this season and missed two months in the new year due to injury. His last Fleet goal was in Wright’s first game in charge, the 4-1 loss at Barnet in December.
With 81 goals to his name for the club, Poleon is eighth in the club’s all-time scorers list and he played a key role in their National League South title-winning campaign.
Bingham scored just two league goals this term, his deflected strike against Hartlepool in September stood alone for many months as the Fleet’s only league success. He netted 55 times in 157 games for the club.
Defender O’Neill joined the club in 2022 and was another important player in their title-winning squad. He played 104 times for Ebbsfleet and while injury blighted his campaign this time around, he was appointed captain under Wright.
Cundle has only featured in the league once since November. He had a brief loan spell at Maidstone but picked up an injury during his time at the Gallagher Stadium. Another key component of the title-winning squad, Cundle made 113 appearances for Ebbsfleet.
All four players are unlikely to be short of offers.
There are 12 players leaving the club after their contracts expired, although Jack Wakely had already announced his retirement due to injury.
Callum Harriott, Jim Kellermann, Nathan Odokonyero, Lewis Page, Jephte Tanga, Kwame Thomas and Kymani Thomas complete the list of released players.
The Fleet had already announced deals with George Moncur and Josh Passley for next season.
Elijah Anthony, Tom Dallison and Louis John also have deals in place for 2025/26, along with Wes Fonguck who is currently on loan in America until the end of November.
Wright has also agreed deals with veteran keeper Mark Cousins, midfielder Toby Edser and youngster Maxx Manktelow for the new campaign.
Alex Lankshear finished the season on loan at Ebbsfleet but has been offered a new deal after he was released by League 1 Blackpool. Other loan players Alex Aoraha, Aaron Bolger, Ryan Carr, Tyler Cordner and Felix Goddard have returned to their parent clubs.
The Fleet have offered deals to Ben Chapman, Aaron Cosgrave, Franklin Domi, Harrison Firth, Mustapha Olagunju, Dominic Samuel and Anthony Stewart.
Ebbsfleet also announced that Colin Gordon, who joined as head of football in December 2024, has left the club.
