Concord Rangers 1 Ebbsfleet United 2 match report: Rakish Bingham and Dominic Poleon score for the Fleet

Ebbsfleet moved into the top three in National League South after coming from behind at Concord on Monday.

The Fleet edged above rivals Dartford and confirmed their place in the play-offs in the process thanks to second-half goals from Rakish Bingham and Dominic Poleon.

Fleet made two changes from the side that won 2-1 against Dulwich on Good Friday, Poleon and Joe Martin coming into the starting line-up.

On a dry and bobbly pitch it was a first half devoid of any real quality and only limited chances.

Poleon made space for himself on the edge of the Concord area but shot harmlessly wide after nine minutes.

It took 30 minutes for the visitors to register a shot on target when Craig Tanner ran forward but could only fire straight at keeper Myles Roberts from 20 yards.

Fleet’s Ben Chapman went into the book for a rash challenge on halfway.

Concord had two free-kicks that Ryan Blackman delivered into the box straight for Louie Moulden to comfortably claim. Indeed Moulden’s only other first half involvement was to save from Lamar Reynolds after Sido Jombati give the ball away cheaply.

Reynolds broke the deadlock - and boredom - with a moment of trickery five minutes into the second half. He skipped past a challenge on the edge of the Fleet box and fired low beyond Moulden to put Concord ahead

Fleet’s equaliser came from the first time they matched up Concord’s game, winning a series of headers in the middle of the park, the ball was finally worked wide when Joe Martin crossed for Bingham to convert from close range.

The visitors went ahead with 20 minutes left. A swift counter attack saw Bingham set up Poleon, who twisted back inside and fired low beyond Roberts for his 17th goal of the campaign.

Fleet had a big escape with nine minutes left when Nana Kyei hit the crossbar from 15 yards.

Concord sent on big striker Temi Babalola late on, Fleet responding by replacing Poleon with defender Alex Finney.

But despite piling on the pressure, the visitors were able to hold firm.
