A teenage boy has been arrested after six beach huts were broken into during a spate of burglaries along the coast.
Police were called to Spa Esplanade in Herne Bay just before 11pm on Sunday after suspicious torchlights were spotted.
Officers found a beach hut had been broken into, while a second had also been tampered with.
A police spokesman said: "A total of six burglaries were reported to have taken place in huts during the same weekend.
"Officers arrested a 16-year old boy from Herne Bay in connection with the break-ins."
The teenager was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article and riding a motorbike otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
