Fly-tipping discovery in Bogshole Lane, Herne Bay, sparks Canterbury City Council appeal

An investigation has been launched after an abandoned caravan was found dumped alongside dozens of concrete blocks in a field.

Officers from Canterbury City Council made the discovery in Bogshole Lane, Herne Bay.

The motorhome was filled with carpet and also surrounded by bags of cement and plasterboard.

Council officers sifted through the rubbish but were unable to find any evidence of who dumped it last week.

The local authority has now urged anyone with information about it to call its environmental enforcement team on 01227 862000.

It is feared that more rubbish will be dumped across the district if Kent County Council's proposals to charge residents to dispose of building waste at tips across the county are approved.
