WHEN he was born last August, Kenzie Leggatt weighed just 1lb 6oz and measured six inches.

But after seven months of specialist hospital care and five operations, Kenzie has finally been allowed home.

His parents, Lewis and Lauren Leggatt, have dubbed him 'our little fighter’ after he defied doctors who warned them on numerous occasions he might not survive.

But Kenzie still only weighs 9lb at nearly eight months old, and is not out of the woods yet.

The couple, who live in Canterbury Road, Herne Bay, and have another 16-month-old son, Noah, are receiving regular visits from medics to check on Kenzie’s condition.

Lauren said: “He really is remarkable and we have called him our little fighter, but he’s still got a battle on his hands."

She added: “We would like to thank all the nurses and doctors who have done so much for Kenzie and been so kind and supportive to us.”
