Delays have cleared after a crash in a tunnel on the Thanet Way.

Police were called to the scene in Chestfield and one lane was closed, causing traffic to queue back towards Whitstable.

A trailer is reported to have come loose from a lorry at around 9.30am on the coastbound carriageway of the A299.

The road was completely blocked at around 11.30am. One lane reopened about an hour later, and both lanes were clear by 2.30pm.

Police say no injuries have been reported and a rolling roadblock was set up while the road was cleared.

A separate crash further down the road, close to Yorkletts, continues to cause long delays.
