Bullockstone Road in Herne Bay to be closed for two weeks

A thoroughfare regularly used by motorists to travel between Herne Bay and Canterbury will be sealed off for up to two weeks, highways chiefs have announced.

Bullockstone Road will be closed between the junctions with the A291 Canterbury Road and Owls Hatch Road from Monday, January 14.

Kent County Council's highways team says it will be done to allow for a range of land and environmental surveys to take place.

It recommends motorists seek alternative routes through the Old Thanet Way, which has been installed with temporary traffic lights for the next three months, and Herne.

The road will also remain closed outside working hours.

A spokesman for KCC Highways added: "Local access to the remainder of Bullockstone Road continues... up to where it is actually closed.

"Access for any residents affected will be maintained when it is safe to do so, but there are likely to be delays and certain times when this is not possible for safety reasons."
