Man, 20s, found dead at Herne Bay seafront amid large emergency response

A man in his 20s has been found dead near a seafront promenade which has been taped off amid a large emergency response.

Police cordoned off the walkway at Bishopstone Glen, near Herne Bay, and have put up a blue tarpaulin sheet this morning.

Officers were called to the area near Reculver Drive shortly after 6.30am today amid concerns for a man.

Sadly, a body was discovered at the scene.

A police spokesman said: “Emergency services attended and a man in his 20s was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”

A nearby walkway was blocked off this morning, with the nearby Ocean View car park filled with police vehicles, including forensic investigation vans.

Members of the coastguard were also at the scene.
