Man stole hybrid electric bike after asking for 'test ride' in Herne Bay

A thief cycled off with an electric bike after asking its owner for a "test ride".

Police investigating the theft in Herne Bay have released an image of a man they would like to speak to.

A man is said to have arrived at a property in the Broomfield Road area of the town at about 8.30pm on October 25, having arranged to to buy the bike online.

The model - a Cube Reaction Hybrid - is thought to retail at about £2,000 brand-new.

But after asking to test-ride the bike, the man rode off on it without paying and did not return.

Officers investigating the incident have today released an image of a man "who may be able to assist enquiries".
