By Jack Dyson

An alleyway has been sealed off after a suspected "wartime munition" was discovered in the centre of a town.

Officers were called to the path that links Mortimer Street to Central Parade and runs alongside the Beach Street car park in Herne Bay just before 2.40pm.

After arriving at the scene, they taped off the alleyway as a precaution.
