Isthmian League round-up: VCD Athletic go top, Sevenoaks and Herne Bay win, Faversham beat Sittingbourne in derby clash

VCD Athletic are the early pacesetters in Isthmian South East.

Nick Davis’ side made it three wins out of three with a 4-0 victory at Three Bridges.

Ayman El-Mogharbel and Lea Dawson put Vickers in charge at halt-time with Joe Bingham and Paul Vines completing the scoring after the break.

Sevenoaks are in second place following a 1-0 home win over Burgess Hill, supersub Dan Parkinson coming off the bench to score for the second successive match.

Fans would be well advised not to leave Herne Bay matches before the final whistle.

They scored two goals in stoppage time for the second week running as Bay won 3-1 at home to Whitehawk.

Behind to a George Kamurasi own goal, Bay were handed a helping hand when Adam El-Abd saw red with 15 minutes left after a bust-up with his own team-mate.

Bay levelled with eight minutes left through Laurence Harvey. After Anthony Edgar's free-kick hit the bar, Harvey then put Bay ahead from the rebound and Zak Ansah added a third goal for the hosts.

Trips down the M20 seem to go down well with Phoenix Sports.

They followed up their opening day win at Ashford by winning 4-0 at Hythe Town.

All the goals came in the second half with Kweku Ansah, Ben Fitchett, Zak Bryon and Lauris Chin scoring.

Faversham picked up their first win of the season, a 3-0 derby success at Sittingbourne.

Watched by a crowd of 326, Faversham led through Joe Denny’s ninth-minute goal.

Second-half strikes from Sam Bewick and Stephen Okoh wrapped up the win.

After two defeats, Whitstable got their first victory – 2-0 at Haywards Heath.

Ollie Rowe and Tijan Jadama struck in the first half for the Oystermen.

Margate drew 0-0 at Leatherhead in Isthmian Premier – a third draw in four league games for Jay Saunders’ men.
