Mouldy naan bread from Aldi sparks anger from shopper

A woman has spoken of her disgust after being sold mouldy naan bread at a supermarket in Hythe.

The shopper contacted KentOnline after buying the bread - which had a December 9 use-by date - at the new Aldi supermarket, which opened last month.

She said she wanted to warn others to check products after the incident.

"I was meant to be giving this to my one-year-old niece but so glad I checked it now," she said.

"Absolutely disgusted with them."

An Aldi spokesperson said: “Although rare, this can happen if the packaging is damaged, resulting in the product being exposed to air.

"We apologise to the customer and would encourage her to return the product to store for a refund.”
