White Hart pub, Hythe, to reopen following positive Covid-19 result

A pub which closed after a member of its staff tested positive for Covid-19 will now reopen.

The team behind the White Hart in Hythe revealed the news last night, confirming the pub will welcome customers back on Tuesday.

It follows a deep clean of the pub, in High Street, and all colleagues receiving negative test results.

A statement said: "We are pleased to announce that we will be reopening on Tuesday, September 1.

"Whilst we have been closed the entire premises has been extensively deep cleaned, and all of our staff have received negative coronavirus test results.

"We have also spoken to the relevant authorities, who have confirmed that it is safe for us to reopen.

"Normal service will resume on Tuesday morning with brunch, lunch and dinner and we are now taking bookings over the phone.

"We thank you for your support during this time and look forward to seeing you soon."

The White Hart closed last on August 22 after one of its staff tested positive for Covid-19 .

As a result, customers were contacted via track and trace.

Elsewhere in the county, a bus driver for Arriva based at the Northfleet depot also tested positive for the virus .
