Pictures show progress at ‘exceptional’ new £2.5m mansion in Saltwood, Hythe

Aerial pictures reveal the progress being made on a new £2.5 million mansion being built in a Kent village.

The luxury home is being created in Saltwood, near Hythe, and replaces a property which was gutted by a fire five years ago.

Named Saltwood Manor, it will have five bedrooms and five bathrooms, a triple garage and gated access.

Two further homes are also being built to the rear of the plot, one four-bed and one three-bed.

The home went on the market earlier this year for £2.5 million, with estate agent Hobbs Parker calling it an “exceptional contemporary home”.

Associate director Sarah Holgate said: “In my view, this is going to be one of the most impressive houses in the area.”

Its listing states: “Saltwood Manor is an exceptional contemporary home, conceptually designed by award-winning architects Holloway Studio and constructed by renowned local house builder Clarus Homes.

“Georgian and Art Deco influences combine with a 21st century specification to establish one of the most magnificent and prestigious new homes in this highly desirable area with far-reaching sea views.

“This is a small exclusive development with high-end appeal, being within easy reach of local amenities.”

Planning permission was granted for the impressive new build in 2023.

High Meadow House, which once sat on the plot, suffered a fire in November 2020.

The family living there lost all their possessions, with a dad and daughter having to jump from a balcony to reach safety.

The plot was later sold with planning permission for £1.1 million.
