A man has been taken to hospital after a crash involving a motorbike this morning.

The A259 Seabrook Road near Hythe was shut between Cannongate Road and Horn Street shortly after 7am.

Paramedics say they were called following reports of a collision involving a truck and a motorbike.

They treated one casualty at the scene before the man was taken to William Harvey Hospital for further treatment.

The incident led to the A-road closing in both directions for about an hour.

However, it reopened shortly after 8am.
