Under-23 manager Martin Chandler will take charge of first-team affairs while the Cannons start the search for a new boss.

New Hythe chairman Andy Nanda, who succeeded Matt Smith earlier this month, said: “Following open and honest discussions, both parties felt it was the right time to part ways.

“On behalf of everyone at Hythe Town, I’d like to thank Nick for all of his efforts and we wish him nothing but success in the next chapter of his career.”

Davis won five of his 38 league games in charge of the Cannons.

The former Sittingbourne, Ramsgate and VCD boss worked tirelessly in his efforts to keep the club up but faced numerous challenges throughout the season which prevented him from building a settled side.

Hythe host champions-elect Ramsgate on Good Friday and visit Ashford on Easter Monday.
