FA bans for Faversham Town and Hythe Town players and Ebbsfleet United warned about their future conduct

The Football Association have banned a Kent footballer for 12 matches over his involvement in a mass brawl.

Nigel Neita was one of two Hythe Town players punished following the fighting which broke out after the Cannons' 2-1 defeat at Faversham Town on Tuesday, February 5.

As many as 40 people were involved in the ugly scenes which erupted after the Bostik South East match at Salters Lane.

Neita's 12-match ban will take effect at the start of next season and he was also fined £150 after admitting a charge of improper conduct.

Jack Sammoutis, who started for Hythe that night, was handed a six-match ban and fined £100 while Faversham's Ben Chapman has been suspended for four matches and also fined £100.

Both clubs were charged with failing to ensure their players and/or officials conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from engaging in violent and/or provocative behaviour.

They admitted the charges, with Hythe fined £500 and Faversham fined £350.

Meanwhile, Ebbsfleet United have been severely warned as to their future conduct following a mass confrontation at the end of their National League game at Halifax on Tuesday, March 26.

Fleet denied the charge but were fined £7,500 while Halifax were fined £750 after admitting an identical charge.

It's not the first time Ebbsfleet have found themselves in trouble this season.

The club were fined a total of £16,850 for failing to control their players in five fixtures; the others being against Leyton Orient in August (£850), Harrogate in October (£1,500), Barrow in November (£2,000) and Solihull Moors in February (£5,000).
