Black Friday mania has descended on Kent as shoppers head to the high street and go online to get the latest discounts.

Dozens of retailers across the county have slashed their prices in what is expected to be the biggest shopping day of the year for many brands.

There were queues outside Game in Maidstone late last night as many hoped to get a discount on the latest Call of Duty instalment.

The store remained the busiest in the town centre through the morning with huge discounts on games and console bundles.

HMV in Fremlin Walk also offered huge discounts, with a pair of headphones reduced from £119.99 to £19.99 selling out within an hour and a half.

Meanwhile, shoppers heading to Bluewater faced queues of up to 20 minutes from the A2 to make it into the centre.

Bluewater tweeted that it is "looking forward to an exciting day with some great offers".

Online shoppers have not been spared queues either as many websites have struggled to cope with the increase in traffic.

Tesco Direct apologised to customers facing delays.

The "sorry for making you wait" message first appeared at about 8am and resurfaced at about midday after a brief period of getting back up and running.
