Medway to host big industrial expo at Chatham Historic Dockyard

Roll up, roll up for the Manufacturing and Engineering Expo.

The county’s biggest industrial show takes place in Chatham’s Historic Dockyard on July 10 – and organisers want you to be there.

The huge event is jointly run by Medway Council and Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce. There are opportunities for more than 60 major exhibitors.

Councillor Jane Chitty (below), the portfolio holder for Strategic Development and Economic Growth in Medway, said : “This is the exhibition that will highlight manufacturing and engineering excellence.

“This is an opportunity for companies to showcase this and to highlight innovation.

“It’s also a wonderful opportunity for young people to recognise career opportunities and to learn from one another the benefits of careers in engineering and manufacturing.”

BAE Systems Electronic Systems division in Rochester, and the University of Greenwich, backer of the new University Technical College, have signed up. The UTC will specialise in engineering and construction studies for those aged 14 to 19.

The show will include a demonstration area for apprentices, plus workshops covering a range of subjects including finance, training and exporting.
