Quinn Estates extends ski sponsorship deals with Dave Ryding and Alex Tilley

Canterbury developer Quinn Estates has renewed a sponsorship deal with two Olympic skiing stars.

The company has inked fresh contracts with Lancashire's Dave Ryding and Aberdeenshire's Alex Tilley, who represented Team GB at the Winter Olympic Games in Pyeonchang in South Korea earlier this year.

World Cup racer Ryding finished in an impressive ninth place in the men’s slalom final, while Tilley crashed out early but still finished the season ranked inside the top 30 in the world.

The sport is close to the heart of Quinn Estates’ managing director, Mark Quinn, who skied for the national team and went on to race on the international ski race circuit, before switching to pursue a career in ski coaching. He became the youngest top qualified ski instructor and trainer in Britain. He then retired, aged 24, to set up his own business in property development.

It is Quinn Estates which is behind the new office building in Ashford town centre, and behind proposals for a new hospital at Canterbury. among many other projects.

The sponsorships packages will provide Ryding and Tilley with the means to buy equipment, fund travel and contributing to the team expenses, amongst other expenditures.

Mark Quinn said: “We are delighted to be working with Dave and Alex again this year and to have played a small part in their success.

“It was great to track their progress in the last season, and see how our sponsorship allowed them to focus more on their training, allowing them to achieve the best possible results.

“The ethos of the sporting world, and skiing in particular for me represents the same values of Quinn Estates – relentless commitment, drive and determination.

“I am proud to back these two athletes again and look forward to continuing our relationship with each one as their career continues to grow from strength to strength. We wish them the best of luck for the season ahead.”
