The option on the 13-acre greenfield site follows development of The Sycamores, a 10-acre site situated off Roundwell which, when complete, will boast 100 new three, four and five-bedroom homes.

Rupert Home, development director at Dandara, said: “There is substantial demand for housing in and around Maidstone, which has further increased in recent months as home working has been embraced. This, coupled with a distinct shortage in supply, has created a housing need in the area greater than ever.

"As part of our planning and design process we extensively engage with the community and work with the local authority to deliver a unique scheme that enhances and complements its surroundings, delivers private housing at accessible price points, provides much needed affordable housing, and contributes to local amenity and infrastructure needs.”

Dandara is behind a number of other developments in Tunbridge Wells, Laddingford and Tenterden.
