Ibstock's Supreme Concrete factory in Sittingbourne gets upgrade

A factory is to undergo a major investment programme which will see a host of upgrades to its facilities.

Ibstock is ploughing the cash into the Sittingbourne site of Supreme Concrete, which manufacturers precast building components, fencing products and lintels.

Funding will upgrade production machinery and on-site staff welfare facilities. It will include a new toilet block and refurbished mess-rooms. A key objective will be to improve facilities for female production and engineering staff.

In addition, a new and ongoing programme of training opportunities for staff will take place - with a particular focus on health and safety.

Richard Davey, commercial operations manager at Supreme Concrete, said: “Companies like ours can only grow and succeed in our competitive market if we really invest in our people: it is our team that makes our business. This investment gives us a much-needed boost right across the site – it makes us more efficient; and allows us to demonstrate an even greater commitment to developing the skills within our team. In short, it gives us a really good foundation to build on for the future.”
