Commercial Services arm of KCC invests in Print Works equipment

The county council's commercial services division has invested in a host of state-of-the-art printing equipment for its Print Works operation.

Its print division, which counts schools, NHS trusts, housing associations, local authorities and Kent County Council itself among its client base, says the move will allow it to widen the scope of the products it can offer customers.

Commercial Services operates as a stand-alone, wholly-owned, trading arm of the county council and has deals in place with customers across the country.

Head of marketing, Kris Wagland, said the aim of investing in the new equipment was to increase the range of products on offer to existing customers and to widen its client base outside Kent.

He said: “Our new digital kit heralds the evolution of Print Works, and after making such a significant investment our aim is to offer a one-stop-shop for printing and finishing for our ever-increasing customer base."

The investment consists of three pieces of Konica Minolta hardware – a mono printer, colour printer and finishing machine.

The new printers and finishers replace the previous equipment, which had been in place for 12 years and, in addition to a higher quality and volume of output, will offer substantial cost savings in the future.

Print Works manager Rachel Salisbury said: “These are exciting times for Print Works, and we can now provide an enhanced customer experience that offers exceptional print at great value for money."
