MegaGrowth 50: Fastest growing exporters in Kent revealed

The fastest growing exporters have been revealed as part of the eagerly anticipated MegaGrowth 50 list.

At a special unveiling in Maidstone this morning, the list of pacesetting exporters is published alongside the main top 50 for fastest overall growth firms.

Compiled by the KM Media Group, here are profiles of the top three - and the list in full.

1. West Design Products

Folkestone

Export growth: 470.1%

With an operating revenue of £28.6m and an overseas turnover of £3.1m last year, West Design Products is a leading arts, crafts and toys producer and merchant.

The company supplies to large and small retailers in more than 24 markets across the world.

A strong ethos of being friendly, rapid and efficient has helped it provide a high quality service to customers.

Having a UK factory enables the company to react quickly and turn raw materials into a finished product within days.

2. Sahara Presentations Group

Dartford

Export growth: 453.3%

This audiovisual (AV) solutions company has recently moved into new 290,047 sq ft premises with its logistic partner Europa Worldwide Group to accommodate its rapid growth and future expansion plans.

The facility has enabled it to boost capacity by 50% with the opportunity for further development on the new site.

A leading supplier of innovative products and technologies, the business had an overseas turnover of £36m and operating revenue of £72.6m last year.

3. Edward Vinson

Faversham

Export growth: 364.1%

This Faversham-based business has been growing fruit for more than 150 years.

Since 1999, Edward Vinson made a strategic decision to stop producing other crops and just focus on soft fruits.

Running three divisions; fruit production, plant breeding and propagation, it had an overseas turnover of £1.6m and operating revenue of £17.2m last year.

The company attributes its success to its 444 staff who have significantly contributed to its growth.
