A family business, Sussex Beds was founded in 1981 and this new branch will be its 10th store in Kent and Sussex.

Selling its own unique brand of quality beds and mattresses, the company's ethos is to provide a ‘great night’s sleep’.

This pledge is backed with an option to test and try out its products with a 30-night trial period.

John Rayment, operations director at Sussex Beds, grew up in Tunbridge Wells, going to Huntleys School in Culverden Down before joining the family firm in 1989.

"I am really excited to finally open our new store in Tunbridge Wells," said John.

"I remember the building as a Sainsbury's during my childhood, before it changed to Argos. Whilst project managing the fitting of the Calverley Road store many fond memories of shopping with my mum returned to me.’

The store was originally scheduled to open in March. However, because of the coronavirus pandemic and retail lockdown this was delayed and the shop officially opens on Saturday, June 27.
