A UK charity that provides personalised care for the elderly and those living with dementia has put in place a series of measures against COVID-19 so that it can continue to reach out to those in need in Kent.
Avante Care and Support provide high quality personalised care for elderly people and for those with dementia. The registered charity has an office in Kent providing services in Sittingbourne, Sheerness and Faversham as well as an office Bexley covering the whole of the London Borough of Bexley. Avante also have ten care homes across Kent, Bexley and Greenwich.
The COVID-19 pandemic has raised extraordinary challenges for those in need of personalised care, their families and for the carers that need to assist them.
And with the health risks far from over, it is vital that those who are vulnerable are supported in the best and safest way.
“We have implemented robust and comprehensive plans, measures and support to respond to the virus pandemic,” said Lisa Hann who is Head of Home Care at Avante Care and Support.
“The health, wellbeing and safety of our care home residents, service users and staff continue to be our main priority during the pandemic.
“But we also know that during this time people are still looking for care which is why we continue to offer our Home Care and Wellbeing Support to new clients and to which we can respond to a wide range of needs.
“We recognise that this is an uncertain and worrying time which is why we want to assure everyone that when we’re caring for new service users from the community, we are doing so safely.”
Guaranteeing an assessment of each individual’s needs, the team at Avante Care and Support take the time to listen to what is important to families or their loved ones.
Whether somebody requires support with everyday tasks that have become more difficult, needs help due to mobility or health related issues, or is returning home from hospital, the Home Care and Support service can be tailored around any individual’s needs.
“We can provide care to you at home in a number of ways,” continued Lisa.
“For example, we offer personal care, companionship, cooking, housekeeping, shopping, social support or assistance with medication.
“Our service also provides care to privately funded, local authority and NHS continuing health care service users. We deliver high quality care and support in the home, to clients with a range of needs, including long-term complex care.”
Making it easier for residents to have choice and control in their journey of care is something that the team at Avante Care and Support also strive towards.
