A family-owned drinks firm has struck a major deal with discount supermarket brand Aldi.
Northfleet-based Storefast Solutions is collaborating with the supermarket chain to create a new spicy margarita cocktail in a can.
It comes in addition to continuing producing an espresso martini flavour. Five further products for Aldi are set to be created within the next 12 months.
The products will be available in store from March 3, priced £1.99 a can.
Rachel Collins, director, at Storefast Solutions, said: “We’ve had so much fun coming up with a new range of bespoke, high-quality alcoholic cocktails for Aldi shoppers to enjoy, and we are so excited to see our product in stores across the country.
“Working with Aldi is a milestone for our business, and we can’t wait to see how our relationship develops over the coming year.”
The company is no stranger to major production jobs. Operating for more than 35 years, last year it produced more than 10 million cans and recently upgraded its facility to allows it to produce up to 90m a year.
To support the expansion, the business has installed an acre of solar panels on the roof of its warehouse to help service the energy demands of the new line. In addition, it sustainably brews its own coffee for production, roasting it in the UK and then brewing and filtering it on site.
Julie Ashfield, managing director for buying at Aldi UK, added: “Investing in family-owned British businesses like Storefast Solutions is hugely important to us, and we’re looking forward to seeing where the partnership takes us.
“Our cocktail can range is enormously popular, and I have no doubt the new spicy margarita flavour will be an absolute hit with customers this summer.”
