RSK Group acquires Horsmonden-based Twig and Northfleet's CAN

An environmental and engineering services company has grown with two recent acquisitions of Kent firms.

Last week, the RSK Group confirmed it had acquired Twig Trading Ltd, a habitat management company specialising in ground maintenance, ecological contracting and solar farm maintenance, based in Horsmonden.

Twig employs 15 people and undertakes projects in the south east of England and further afield. The business also does winter work such as gritting and snow clearance.

Its clients include housebuilders, water companies, solar farm operators, main contractors and private individuals.

Twig was owned by David and Miranda Eyre. Twig will continue to operate under Mr Eyre's leadership when it joins the agriculture, land and property management division of RSK.

Dr Alan Ryder, chief executive officer at RSK, said: “Twig’s services complement the recently established RSK habitat management business and our environmental consultancy services.

“Joining forces with Twig, a leading business in this field, enables us to offer a more complete package to our clients.”

The announcements mark the latest in a series of acquisitions by RSK, which is based in Helsby, Cheshire, and is the fifth largest environmental consultancy in the UK.

At the end of last month it acquired structural service provider, CAN.

CAN, which has offices in Northfleet, has recently worked on the installation of the roof at the new Tottenham Hotspur football stadium in north London and a highways project at the Heads of the Valleys in Wales.

The company was owned by Neil Foster and Andy Wingfield, who will both continue to lead the business as it joins the geosciences and engineering division of RSK.
