Following the success of the inaugural event in 2018, the Kent Interdisciplinary Research Centre in Cyber Security (KirCCS) will host its second Cyber Security event featuring:

Keynote speakers from the National Cyber Security Centre – GCHQ, Dr Jessica Barker, Co-Founder/Co-CEO at Cygenta & Mikko Hyppönen, Chief Research Officer at F-Secure

Micro-consultancy 1:1 sessions with industry experts offering bespoke cyber security advice

An interactive exhibition with stands, demos & posters

At the event, participants will meet with a range of cyber security experts from different organisations and disciplines, including researchers, practitioners, innovation experts, and policy makers. The experts will share their interdisciplinary knowledge and services on how organisations and individuals can make themselves safer in the cyber-physical world.

The event will up-skill professionals in the area of cyber security as well as provide networking and collaboration opportunities and sector funding information.

Keynote speakers

Jessica Barker, Co-Founder and Co-CEO at Cygenta

Dr Barker is a leader in the human nature of cyber security and has been named one of the top 20 most influential women in cyber security in the UK. She is Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Cygenta, where she follows her passion of positively influencing cyber security awareness, behaviours and culture in organisations around the world. She is the Chair of ClubCISO and a board member of BlackHat Executive Summit Europe and SANS Security Awareness Summit EU. She is a popular international keynote speaker and frequently appears in the media as an expert in cyber security.

Mikko Hyppönen, CRO (Chief Research Officer) at F-Secure

Mikko Hyppönen is a global security expert. He has worked at F-Secure since 1991 and has written on his research for the New York Times, Wired and Scientific American and he appears frequently on international TV. He has lectured at the universities of Stanford, Oxford and Cambridge and was selected among the 50 most important people on the web by the PC World magazine and was also included in the FP Global 100 Thinkers list. He sits in the advisory boards of t2 and Social Safeguard and in the advisory panel for the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
