A NEW pain clinic project has been given an £84,000 boost from audience votes on a TV charity slot.

Gillingham's Open Door clinic, which deals with both physical and emotional pain, was chosen in a People's Millions grant scheme operated through Meridian TV.

The project, set up by Sunlight Centre volunteer Bob Smith, was voted through on Thursday evening.

It is for people with problems such as alcohol and drug abuse, bereavement and marriage and money problems.
