A249 crash car swerved to avoid rabbit

This was what happened after a car swerved to avoid a rabbit on the A249 on the Isle of Sheppey.

A blue Fiat Punto left the road and ended up upside down in the marshland off Brielle Way between Queenborough Corner and the railway flyover.

The accident happened at about 10.10pm Wednesday.

According to police, the driver had swerved to avoid a rabbit.

A man and woman travelling in the car were checked over by paramedics at the scene, and one patient was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital as a precaution.

Police did not have to close the road.
