ACCUSED: Chris Langham

AWARD-winning actor Chris Langham has appeared in court accused of sex offences.

Langham, 57, of Golford, near Cranbrook, faces eight charges of indecent assault and another serious sexual offence.

Wearng a grey suit and clutching a novel, Langham, who won a BAFTA in May for his role in the BBC comedies The Thick Of It and Help, spoke only to confirm his name.

He also faces 15 charges of making indecent images of children and Deborah Charles, prosecuting, said both indictments would be joined at the next hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on November 22.

Langham will then enter pleas to all charges. Miss Charles said none had so far been indicated.

Judge Jeremy Carey granted Langham bail on condition that he has no contact with three witnesses and no unsupervised access to any children under the age of 16.
