The accident happened at around 11.20am Friday where the motorway joins the M25 clockwise.

A police spokesman said the man, who is thought to be in his 40s, was flown to London's Kings College by air ambulance.

He suffered injuries to his chest and pelvis.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, according to police.

The M26 was closed and vehicles diverted up the M20 onto the M25 while emergency services worked to remove the bike and debris from the carriageway. Motorists were advised to avoid the area.
