A BOY of 13 has been charged with manslaughter eight months after the death of a grandfather.

Ernest Norton, a retired 67-year-old draughtsman from Erith, died on February 25 following an incident on the tennis courts by Erith Leisure Centre.

A post-mortem examination revealed he died of natural causes and an aggrevated heart condition. He also suffered an injury to the head.

Four more boys, two aged 13, one 12 and one 11, and all from the borough of Bexley, have been charged with violent disorder. They are all due to appear at Bexley Youth Court next Wednesday.

A sixth youth has been bailed until Monday, October 30, in connection with the same incident.
