Boy critically injured in Tunbridge Wells crash

A five-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after he was struck by a car in Tunbridge Wells.

The crash, which involved a black Ford Fusion, happened in Powder Mill Lane at around 3.25pm Wednesday.

The boy, who suffered a head injury, was initially taken to the town's Kent and Sussex Hospital but later transferred to a hospital in London.

On Thursday, a police spokesman said: "His condition is currently described as stable but critical."

A police investigation into the circumstances of the crash has been launched.
