Bungling thieves have nicked this life-sized statue of a naked woman - but left her feet behind.

The 5ft 5in tall figurine was ripped from her plinth and taken from a garden near Edenbridge.

Police believe it may have been stolen by scrap theives who didn't realise it was made of resin.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "The statue is a bronze resin figurine of a young woman set on a concrete plinth.

"The statue was broken off the plinth to remove it and as a result the feet were left.

"It is possible that the piece was taken by people for its scrap metal value mistakenly thinking it was bronze."

The incident happened in Hartfield Road, Cowden, between April 7 to 9.

Officers are also investigating a similar theft that happened between midnight and 7.50am on April 15.

A giant bronze fountain was taken from the driveway of a property in Stick Hill, near Edenbridge.

Police said it stands 8ft to 10ft tall and has three galloping horses on it.

At least two people and a vehicle must have been used to move it.
