A man has been taken to hospital with shock and partial burns after a fire at a house in Faversham overnight.

Around 15 firefighters attended the blaze in the basement of a terraced house in Park Road at about 11pm.

Two crews from Faversham and one from Teynham tackled the blaze.

Most of the basement of the two-storey terraced property has been severely damaged and neighbouring properties are also thought to have suffered some smoke damage.

Meanwhile, there has been a fire in a first floor bathroom and loft in a flat in Roseberry Avenue, Ramsgate. Three pumps attended.

The call came in at around 3.30am today, with no casualties reported.
