Canterbury couple Matt and Sueleen have been kicked off The Voice.

The duo were not saved by coach Tom Jones on the BBC talent show last night.

He had to get rid of two of his acts, as did fellow coach and Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am.

It means Ruth Brown, Leanne Mitchell, Jaz Ellington and Tyler James are the first four into the semi final.

Matt, 34, is a chef at the Cherry Tree pub in Canterbury, and Sueleen,
also 34, is a teaching assistant at Bridge and Patrixbourne
Primary School.

The pair had admitted they were the dark horse of the competition, but had hoped to have made it through to the next round.

Speaking before last night's show, Sueleen said: “We want to make Kent proud and get up on that stage and make people think - this is only one part of Kent that they’re from - imagine what else is in this amazing county.”
