A teenager appeared at Maidstone Crown Court today accused of killing a 25-year-old man in an incident outside a Margate nightclub.

Charlie McBride is charged with the manslaughter of Richard Collier (pictured left) outside the Kabuki club in Marine Gardens in the early hours of June 25.

Mr Collier, of Wellington Crescent, Ramsgate, died from a head injury from a single blow.

McBride, of Brighton Road, Sutton, Surrey, will return to court to enter a plea to the charge on September 16.

The 19-year-old has been granted bail, conditional on residence, a tagged curfew and not entering Kent. He is also subject to a £10,000 surety.

The victim is the son of John and Isobel Collier, of Blenheim Place, Folkestone.

Richard attended Harvey Grammar School. He worked part-time in his father's property investment business and played poker on-line and at tournaments.

His father is a district and town councillor for Morehall in the town.

Mr and Mrs Collier are considering setting up a permanent memorial to their son.
