Colombian ambassador on drug prevention visit

Sorry, this video asset has been removed.

Watch the ambassador's
visit and hear his message about the impact of cocaine on
Colombia.

If you take cocaine in Kent you're helping to destroy the
Colombian rainforest- that's the message from the country's
ambassador.

His Excellency Fernando Alzate visited police officers in the
county
to explain the consequences that the drug economy has on
his nation.

The ambassador said that for every gram of
cocaine taken, four square metres of rainforest is destroyed.
The county's force is the first to be briefed by the Colombian
government on their latest efforts to take on the drug cartels.

Mr Alzate is supporting Kent Police's cocaine awareness campaign
which focuses on schools and the night-time economy.

He said: "'We unite all of you to protect the world's
environment. Colombia is one of the world's most diverse countries
and now its biodiversity is under threat as a result of the global
consumption of cocaine."
