Girl guides have been left homeless for the second time in four years after their hall was broken into and destroyed by fire.

The fire broke out at the St John Ambulance hall in Craylands Lane, Dartford on Friday afternoon and is thought to be deliberate.

Ian Tagg, unit helper with the Swanscombe Guides and Brownies, said there had been a break-in at the hall.

He said the perpetrators had attempted to steal collection boxes, blocked the sinks in both toilets and set fire to paperwork in the hall office.

He said: "We're trying to chase around and get another hall so the girls can carry on their badge work and continue their work.

"Our previous home was destroyed by fire four years ago so we find ourselves homeless again."
