Car fire on M20 closed lane on coastbound between Junction 2 for Wrotham and Brands Hatch, and Junction 3 for M26 interchange

One lane had to be closed on the M20 following a car fire.

Two fire engines were sent to the coastbound carriageway between Junction 2 for Wrotham and Brands Hatch, and Junction 3 for the M26.

Crews arrived just before 12pm and had extinguished the fire within half-an-hour.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said no one was injured during the incident, but one lane had to remain out of action for a period of time following the blaze.
