A young cyclist was left in a serious condition after being hit by a car on an industrial estate.

The 20-year-old suffered what are described as "significant" pelvis and head injuries in Crossways Boulevard, Greenhithe.

He was struck by a car at the roundabout with Anchor Boulevard, near the Dartford Crossing tolls, at around 5.40pm yesterday.

Firefighters from Dartford station helped paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service administer first aid to the casualty for about an hour-and-a-half.

An air ambulance was also called, but the man was taken by road to the Royal London Hospital, in Whitechapel.
