With a top score of 140, Mason Watson knows there’s room for
improvement when it comes to darts.

But as he is only three years old – and practises nearly every
day – there’s plenty of time and every chance that he will
hit that magic top score of 180 and go on to become a darts world
champion.

The youngster – who lives in Malling Road, Snodland, with dad
Wayne Watson, 34, and mum Holly Clayton , 30 – just loves his
darts and effortlessly scores bullseye after bullseye.

He has become quite the celebrity in his home town after people
spotted his talent at the Savoy Snooker Club.

The youngster practises at the club, in Snodland High Street,
after pre-school and can often be heard shouting “bullseye” from
his own designated area.

When asked how often he hits the centre of the board, Mason,
replied “pretty much every day”, as he threw a dart without even
looking.

He hit the bull at least twice during our 30 minute
interview.

Dad Wayne said: “I think he has a natural talent for darts. He
just loves it.

“We come to the club most days and he just heads straight for
his dart board and starts throwing.

"He walks round the club looking for the next person he can
challenge.”

The gifted youngster, who attends Katherine Wheel
Pre-School, in Snodland, has only been playing the sport for about
three months but already uses adult-sized darts.

Club owner John Ferrell , a former darts professional who has
played against world champion Phil 'The Power’ Taylor, recognised
the toddler’s talent as soon as he saw him throwing darts at an
adult board.

He decided to hang a board low enough for Mason to play. It is
next to one at regular height so the youngster can play against
adults, including his dad.

John, who is nicknamed the Joker in his professional career,
said: “Mason is really good.

"He definitely has a talent and it’s great he can practice it
here with his own board and area.

"He even has his own throw, like the professionals.”

John took over the snooker club four months ago and transformed
an area, separate to Mason’s, into a dedicated darts room.

With eight boards and specialist lighting, it is ideal for
teams.

The former professional and his team are in the early stages of
planning a darts marathon, in a bid to break a world record.
