The doctor at the centre of rugby union's Bloodgate scandal has been formally warned about her behaviour.

Wendy Chapman has avoided being struck off, after admitting cutting the lip of a Harlequins player to hide a fake injury.

But the General Medical Council says the ruling will stay on her records for another five years.

The General Medical Council yesterday ruled Maidstone Hospital A&E consultant Wendy Chapman's fitness to practise has not been impaired.

She cut the lip of a Harlequins player to hide his use of a fake blood capsule during a European Cup game.
